which is the best home security systemThe app rarely works could be my phone and every update to the app changes the look but never makes it functional. The camera link doesn't work on my phone but my phone is a piece of junk. Only a handful of techs are trained on home security and in a major metropolitan area that is not enough. That's been my problems up to here, maybe that is normal with any company but I hope not. Either way I've got it now!Overall, I think Comcast is a great company. They make great business decisions, their stock is doing great and their new cloud based DVR technology is pretty cool even it took them over a decade to finally create a DVR that looks like it belongs in this decade Sorry Brian Roberts. I would consider Comcast an entry level system. I wish they would add a full set of expert rule configurations that allow the user to not only more control over their home and their lifestyle but save them money in the process. About 10 years ago I wanted to start a subscription based automation company with a buddy of mine, but we didn't have the start up capital to do it. I was a loyal Comcast customer for over 20 years. About 8 months ago I switched from ADT to Xfinity home security.
We’re looking for an economical, DIY security system with a loud alarm/siren to alert us when were sleeping And to alert us if there is an intruder when we’re not home. We’d love your input/ recommendations!Would also love your thoughts/advice on self monitoring vs using a security company to monitor. Many thanks!KelliHi Kelli, You’re very welcome and thanks for reading! There are a bunch of different companies that have sirens I recommend SimpliSafe. However, if you self monitor with SimpliSafe, you won’t be able to control your system remotely, livestream footage, or receive notifications. 24/7 professional monitoring would be better for a family where all adults work full time and wouldn’t have time to contact emergency services if an alarm goes off. However, if you have someone that stays at home, self monitoring should be fine.

alarm system bestWith most DIY systems, such as the SimpliSafe Home Security Kit, the Ring Alarm Security Kit, and the Nest Secure, you purchase the hardware outright and can avoid any monthly fees if you decide to self monitor. If you add monitoring, fees will vary: SimpliSafe charges $14. 99 per month for its no contract monitoring service, while Nest charges $29 per month. If you commit to a three year contract, the price of the Nest service drops to $19 per month. Ring's Protect Plus plan goes for $10 per month and doesn't require a contract. Monitoring for professionally installed systems tends to be more expensive.
